From the Juror, Amy Hollan:
Best in Show winner, Bright Eyes by Telagio Baptista, perfectly captures the joy and hope in a child’s eyes in this moving and inspiring watercolor. It also embodies the theme of this exhibit to do good in the world through art, as 100% of the show’s proceeds benefit the Project for Awesome and two charitable organizations, Partners in Health and Save the Children.
Award of Distinction winners for their creativity and artistic merit include Jena Ataras for her colorful and playful Buckle Up! Buttercup!, Meaghan Troup for her bright rendering of wild mountain poppies in Saving Hope, and Telagio Baptista for his touching portrait of a mother and baby elephant in Motherly Love.
