Joyful Place
This is a palette knife oil on canvas painting of a summer wildflower field from the perspective of laying amongst the flowers and looking up. Downgraded as “weeds,” wildflowers are undaunted by the general opinion held of them. They just grow. Anywhere and everywhere- forcing their way through cracks in pavement and concrete. Seemingly indestructible, they bloom. A lot. When the inevitable storm wreaks its fury, these delicate flowers are pressed to the earth, but as the sun breaks through, they rise and display themselves as beautifully ever, and bring joy to all who view them. I am ceaselessly amazed at how something so fragile can be so strong.
